The Interview Questions and Answers

We sat down with chiropractor and co-founder of the clinic, Dr. Sohil Shafiei, chiropractor and acupuncturist Dr. Terah Wong, physiotherapist Mark Chawke, and massage therapist Basil Rodrigues. Here’s what they had to say:

What do you like about working with the CW Rehab team?

Dr. Sohil Shafiei
I enjoy working in a multidisciplinary setting that allows for collaboration between practitioners on patient management and treatment outcomes. Our team is an outgoing and motivated group and we always have a good time working with each other.

Dr. Terah Wong
What I like the most is it’s a fully integrated team of healthcare providers and practitioners that communicate with one another. This allows for the best care for patients in a timely manner.

Mark Chawke
The team is very collaborative and there is a lot of variety in expertise. I also like that the entire team works together to help the patients, and all of the practitioners are a fun and social group.

Basil Rodrigues
The team is great, friendly, and professional.

How does CW Rehab differentiate itself from other practices where you have worked?

Dr. Sohil Shafiei
The multidisciplinary setting in the rehab clinic itself, as well as the access to our medical team (doctors and nurses), gives us a great advantage when it comes to patient care. We pride ourselves on providing the most comprehensive approach possible.

Dr. Terah Wong
The ease of communication between providers makes giving the right care very accessible. The team is all very friendly and we enjoy being there. In addition, the patients are amazing.

Mark Chawke
In addition to being very collaborative, everyone is very approachable and friendly. There is always someone available to help when problems arise or if we come across difficult cases.

Basil Rodrigues
We are a multidisciplinary team of great professionals and we work as an integrated team.

How long have you been in the industry? How long have you been with CW Rehab specifically?

Dr. Terah Wong
I’ve been in the healthcare industry for 12 years. I’ve been a chiropractor for two and with CW rehab for a little over half a year.

Mark Chawke
I have been in the industry for 6.5 years and I have been at CW Rehab for 5.5 years.

Basil Rodrigues
I have been in the industry since February of 2008 and I have been with CW Rehab since it opened in 2013!

Dr. Sohil Shafiei
I have been practicing for 11 years and I established CW Rehab in 2013.

Do you have a personal philosophy when it comes to your practice?

Dr. Sohil Shafiei
A whole-body approach is key. To be an effective practitioner you need to think big picture when it comes to a patient’s complaints. I do my best to address the issue the patient is dealing with directly, and then also look and see what other effects that complaint might be having on the rest of the body. You are often able to address other issues that the patient has been dealing with and thought were unrelated to their current complaint.

Dr. Terah Wong
My personal philosophy is to treat each person with specific and individual needs. That way I can provide the best care and correct care.

Mark Chawke
Each patient that we treat is different. Even when patients have the same injury they may present it or respond to treatment differently. It is important to treat the individual and not just the injury.

Is there anything you do differently in your practice than others in your field?

Dr. Sohil Shafiei
I believe that the variety of therapeutic approaches I take towards the resolution of a complaint and the amount of time I spend with patients does set me apart. Every patient gets anywhere from 30-45min of care and I don’t limit myself to what type of treatment I do in a session. If I think 5 or 6 different types of interventions are appropriate in session then I’ll do it. The patient’s health and a successful outcome are the most important things to me.

Dr. Terah Wong
I provide acupuncture that is a mix of Eastern and Western philosophies to provide the best outcome for my patients. I also listen to my patient’s needs looking to get them the best possible care there is.

Mark Chawke
The field we are in is ever-evolving. I am constantly learning and keeping up to date with the latest research so that patients receive optimal care. If there is ever a problem or a particularly difficult case, I have a great team alongside me to make sure we get to the bottom of it and get the results for our patients.

Basil Rodrigues
I always provide outcome-based treatments with client-centered care in mind. I provide fair and equitable access and consistent quality of care to all clients and always treat them with respect. In addition, I ensure the client’s continuing comfort and safety during the treatments.
